Annabel was delighted to attend a two-day Level 2 mat work Pilates course, run by APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute), on 21 and 22 September 2019.
She is now midway through her mat work Pilates instructor training which consists of three levels followed by a practical and theory exam. Once she has completed and passed this course, which takes one to two years, she will be a fully accredited APPI instructor.
Annabel is now qualified to take small group pilates classes with a rehabilitation goal to aid those struggling with chronic injuries, including:
- Chronic lower back pain
- Post operative rehabilitation of the spine, i.e. disc surgery, nerve surgery, spinal fusion
- Arthritis in the shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, elbow and spine
Pilates exercises are safe, controlled and fun, and are great for general strengthening of the body to improve movement! You will definitely see an improvement of movement and strength after only a few sessions.
